Environmental Systems History

Layfield Environmental Systems began in Edmonton in 1978 as the installation portion of Layfield Plastics (1978) Ltd. Our initial installations were sump pit liners to the Alberta oil patch and canal liners through the 70's and 80's. Steady growth allowed us to grow through the 90's when we expanded installation services into the US. In 1997 we purchased Geogard Linings in Toronto and extended our installation crews to the east. In 2005 CW Neal Corp in San Diego was added to the Layfield Group bringing world class floating cover technology to the group. Finally in 2008 Aqua Dam and Diversion's unique water filled dam business was incorporated into our service group.
Layfield originated in Edmonton in the 1950's and was purchased by the present ownership in 1978. Since then Layfield has followed a path of controlled growth with strategic acquisitions. The installation of geomembranes has been part of Layfield since the early 80's.
Geogard Linings originated in 1972 as Staff Industries Canada and provided liner installations in eastern Canada. Geogard joined Layfield in 1997.
CW Neal was formed in 1969 in San Diego California. CW Neal pioneered the use of floating covers for potable water reservoirs with a world wide reputation for cover technology. CW Neal joined Layfield in 2005.
Aqua Dam and Diversion has been providing water filled Aqua Dam coffer dams for over 20 years. Layfield started making the Aqua Dam product over 15 years ago. Aqua Dam joined Layfield in 2008.
