CoverFlex CSPE

Overview

Layfield's CoverFlex® CSPE lining materials are made of an uncured rubber compound, called chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSPE). CoverFlex® CSPE liners are available in a number of styles and colors. Each style is a unique combination of the number of plies, the type of supporting scrim, and the overall thickness of the liner. The table below shows five of the available styles. Information on additional styles is available from Layfield.

CoverFlex® CSPE liners offer excellent long term weathering properties, and are available on supporting scrims ranging from 120 to 520 lbs (530 to 2300 N) of grab tensile strength. CoverFlex® CSPE liners are an excellent choice for water and waste water applications, and are commonly used to produce floating covers. CoverFlex® CSPE grades for drinking water contact are available.

CoverFlex® CSPE has been used as a lining material for more than 30 years, and has shown excellent durability as both a liner and cover. Extended exposed service warranties are available with this product. The coating on  materials will cure over time; increasing the chemical and UV resistance of the material but making it more difficult to repair. Heat welds on cured CoverFlex® CSPE are not usually possible but repairs can always be made with an adhesive.
