Heap Leach Applications in Solids Containment
Heap leaching uses geomembranes to collect liquids that are used to dissolve metals from piles of ore. Layfield can provide all types of heap leach geomembranes for any heap leaching design. Heap leaching is commonly used in gold and copper mining operations.
Layfield’s featured product for heap leaching applications is our PVC geomembrane. This geomembrane is highly flexible and is well suited for placement under pads of blasted rock. PVC geomembranes are resistant to the cyanide based chemicals used in gold heap leaching and are easily prefabricated and installed. Layfield also provide the liners for channels and ponds and can provide bird netting, ball covers, or floating covers for pregnant solution ponds.
