Sulfur Containment

Sulfur Applications in Solids Containment

This sulfur block was one of the first to be lined by Layfield.Layfield pioneered the use of liners for the containment of sulfur blocks in the early 90’s. We have lining materials that can stand up to the initial temperatures of a liquid sulfur pour and then prevent seepage of low pH water into the ground for the life of the sulfur block. We also provide liners for run-off ditches and ponds and have constructed pads for the storage of prills and contaminated soils.

Our featured material for sulfur containment is our HAZGARD 100. This material has been used on a number of blocks and has performed well. It is easily installed and can be repaired by the operator with a simple glue kit. Layfield can supply design assistance for sulfur block construction and data on a number of liner materials in contact with liquid molten sulfur. Layfield can also discuss covers for sulfur blocks to prevent weathering of the stored material. Call Layfield for you best options in sulfur containment.
