1. Product Description
EnviroSlope^TM Wire Mesh Face is an economical system to create attractive vegetated reinforced soil slopes and is recommended for slopes up to 70 degrees. The facing material for this option is wire mesh panels (forms) backed with a turf reinforcement mat and UV resistant biaxial geogrid to retain the topsoil at the face.  The facing may be stepped back or alternatively fabricated with a slope as required to create the slope angle specified. The dimensions of the panel section are nominally 450 mm high X 3000 mm long per panel measured on the slope.   Uniaxial geogrid (Layfield T Series or Layfield uniaxial E'Grid geogrids) are installed for slope stability.    Reinforced slope structures are usually constructed in areas to save space. Typically the structure delivers advantages in right of way and reduced space that could not be achieved with the slope of an unreinforced embankment. Applications include highway embankment construction, vegetated permanent steepened slopes, industrial applications, arch culvert end treatments, and many others.

3. Installation
The installation starts with completion of any required excavation and drainage materials are installed. Vertical braces are setup and the wire mesh panels are set against the braces and levelled. The biaxial geogrid and Turf reinforcement mat (TRM) are placed against the backfill side of the wire mesh forms (panels) and uniaxial geogrid is placed. Correct orientation (strength direction) of the uniaxial geogrid is of utmost importance. Wire struts are attached in the field from the top to the rear back end of the wire mesh panel forms. Prior to backfill, all geogrid must be consistently tensioned by pulling it away from the back of the facing sections so it is taut and anchoring it with pins and small piles of backfill. A topsoil zone is placed inside the facing materials for seeding. Construction continues by alternately placing each level of facing elements, geogrid, accessories and backfill. Refer to and follow project specific requirements in the plans, specifications and tender documents.

7. Maintenance
MSE wall and slope systems should be inspected annually. Inspect the facing units for alignment or other defects. Look for signs of settlement, cracking, or erosion. Maintain vegetation or concrete facing with regular maintenance.
