The GeoPaveTM Permeable Pavement System provides a confined and strengthened aggregate roadway surface and functions as a detention or retention storage for storm water.
The GeoPave system consists of 50 mm thick GeoPave framework units, a gravel base course below (if required) and clean gravel infill. Additional storage capacity can be added by increasing the clean base gravel thickness below or connecting the system to underground storage tank systems which Layfield also supplies.
The system can be designed to handle heavy loading including heavy fire trucks and H-20.
A vegetated system can also be constructed by mixing topsoil in with the gravel. The
GeoPave units are made from reclaimed polyethylene that are interconnected together with metal "U-Clips". The units are 50 mm thick and 1 m long X 0.5 m wide each. A geotextile and/or geogrid underlayer may also be added below the aggregate base if required.
GeoPave is an ideal system for an economical porous pavement where a stabilized low maintenance surface and/or stormwater capacity is required. Applications include parking lots, driveways, and roadways, lay down yards, walkways, trails, and emergency access lanes,
GeoPave is normally used filled with gravel. If a vegetated paving system is required then we suggest using our Geoblock vegetated permeable paving system.
