Leak Location Markets

Sometime during the maintenance of ponds or containments there will be evidence of leakage. This could be from detection of leakage in an underdrain system or could be in the form of records of lost water volume. Pin pointing leakage in a pond, especially a large pond, can be very difficult using visual techniques alone. You need a method that will pinpoint leakage and bring the pond back to an operational state as soon as possible.

Layfield has an electrical leak survey method available that can pin point leakage in ponds and containments. This survey method uses the geomembrane to insulate the water inside the pond from the ground. By applying a charge across this insulator our technicians can find electrical current leakage using a special sensor. In exposed ponds we can find leaks as small as 6 mm and within a 150 mm radius. Not all ponds can be leak surveyed. Successful leak testing depends on the pond arrangement and the fittings and structures within the pond. Call your Layfield representative for more details on leak survey testing.
