Geosynthetics can assist the woodlands manager in developing the timber resource while limiting environmental impacts. Layfield supplies most types of geosynthetics including geotextiles, geogrids, silt fence, erosion control, geomembranes, and most other materials. We also provide containment liners for ponds, chip pads, and fuel secondary containments.
Layfield has a number of featured products for woodlands development. Our most important product/service is our sewn geotextile products. We can sew panels of geotextile for use in haul roads on muskeg and other soft areas. Sewing eliminates field seams and eliminates the extra labor required to place and pin rolls of geotextile. We also feature our erosion control blankets for the rehabilitation of open soils on slopes and channels. Layfield also makes a special red polyethylene film for pulp mill operations that can be used in nursery and woodlands applications and is easily recognized and removed before pulping.
