Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene (CSPE) engineered geomembranes are highly UV stabilized and are used extensively in municipal water containment applications as floating covers and liners. CSPE covers and liners offer excellent long term weathering properties, and are available with supported scrims ranging from 120 to 520 lbs (530 to 2300 N) of grab tensile strength. CSPE grades for drinking water contact are available.
Layfield has extensive North American and international experience with the design, fabrication and installation services of CSPE for floating cover systems. CSPE liners are available in a number of styles and colors. Each style is a unique combination of the number of plies, the type of supporting scrim, and the overall thickness of the liner. Information on additional styles is available from Layfield.
CSPE has been used as a lining material for more than 30 years, and has shown excellent durability as both a liner and cover. Extended exposed service warranties are available with this product. The coating on materials will cure over time; increasing the chemical and UV resistance of the material. Heat welds on CSPE are not usually possible but repairs can always be made with an adhesive.
